This a video with images from the internet and Civil War sites in Virginia that I visited with my class. It is by no means exhaustive, but reflects the sites that were visited. Lyrics take on the viewpoint of either side at certain points based on what fits best. However, the creator is a proud Yankee though she loves the Old Dominion.
An Historic Site Love

This is a video of historic sites in Virginia and two in NC that I have visited over the past year relating to places important from 1607 to the pre-Civil War Era. Most were with a NIAHD Class. Colonial Williamsburg is absent from this video because I have plenty other videos with that. And other VA sites are missing because I didn't visit them

Sharp Dressed Colonial Williamsburg Men
Who is the hottest do you think!!? I know who'd I'd choose.
Thank you for this. I lve Williamsburg. George Washington's Mt Vernon. Plimouth Plantation it is good to identify that differences of by gone times .
Loved it thankyou
What a beautiful place… a tribute to the start of our Nation.
Gorgeous would love to live there I'm so old school.
I love it!
Gorgeous! And the colonial music so beautiful and the Williamsburg decorations are so 🌝🌟 spectacular! Couldn't be better!!
What we consider is there were no electric lights of Christmas during that time and everything was made with natural fruits etc
My husband was stationed in Newport News, VA, a short drive from Williamsburg in the early 1970s. We would spend Sundays visiting CW. Happiest days of my life.
We love Williamsburg. We been there several times, and if Covid ever ends, we’ll go back again. Merry Christmas everyone!
I remember spending many a Christmas in Williamsburg as a child. My parents have passed on and I thank them for instilling in me a love for American history.
The more we allow illegals to flood our nation, the less money Americans have to support museums like this. Illegals take billions from the taxpayer. We can't afford to maintain both. Let's save our American heritage!
What is happening.
How historically accurate are the decorations?
The Masonic wreath was inappropriate and insulting. The Masonic cult and the Lord's birth have nothing in common.
On my very first visit to CW in 2010, I went to see TJ speak. Not knowing what to expect, I wasn't prepared for the absolute thrill of watching Bill Barker walk down the path and on to the stage in full character. People were shaking his hand as he made his way. I really felt like I had just seen Thomas Jefferson.
My husband and I used to go there almost twice a year, always for Christmas. I almost went there on my own this year, but I'm afraid to go there without him. It was our special place to celebrate all our special days and maybe I should keep it there in my memory. NOTHING like a Christmas in Williamsburg!!
1:26 My man Pat!!!
I was in CW during Christmas 2013. It was beautiful...the best place to spend the holidays.
When Thomas Jefferson or Patrick Henry walks down DoG Street, I get heart palpitations.....
Absolutely lovely! No matter the season, CW is majestic.
Absolutely THE best place to visit for Christmas. There is something so magical about CW during the holidays.
Beautiful gorgeous decorations but music and singing way too overpowering and in your face for my personal taste! Would have been better to use authentic colonial music from Williamsburg or the famous Nutcracker Suite ballet music by the late great Peter Illyich Tchaikovsky!! imho...thanks for sharing anyways!
Thank you for posting this!
Thank you very much.m
Does anyone know what the beautiful music is?
VERY NICE
Many thanks for posting! I was a photographer for "The Flat Hat" at W&M in the 1980s and always enjoyed taking photos around CW on the few occasions that it snowed.
Many thanks for all the work that went into the video!
Excellent! ☺
Thanks for this video!
Lol! Well, this is something. Someday I really, really want to go to CW; such a gorgeous place, and I love history, especially the fashion.
HOW WONDERFUL THAT SOMEONE HAS PLACED SUCH A MAGICAL UPLIFTING CHRISTMAS VIDEO LIKE THIS FOR US ALL TO ENJOY THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU HAVE BRIGHTENED MY DAY IF THERE WERE ONLY MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU IN THE WORLD LIFE WOULD BE SO PRECIOUS
Perfect choice of music. Another great one, Maggie!
I raise my tavern mug and huzzah to that tribute. CW does give new meaning to "Welcome Home". I also thank all the wonderful employees for all you do.
If you have a general sense of counting/rhythm, it's not too difficult. :)
Maggie, what a beautiful video. Como Poden was the first song I ever learned to volta to. -Kathleen
Sharp dressed man with a gun and FREEDOM on his mind. We would not be here watching this. VOTE THIS NOVEMBER!
Well done, Maggie!
Bravo! Bravo, Mr. Henry (Mr. Shumann)! ...but fire the cameraman.
LOL Maggie!
Beautiful! Thanks, Margaret. I knew you wouldn't let me down. Marie
